While North America had a holiday on Thursday, the rest of the world kept playing poker!MacauWhile break-even days are nothing unusual for poker players, but when the pro in question is high-stakes addict Andrew Robl, you're going to pay a bit more attention. He's been in Macau for the last week or so in conjunction with the Asian Pacific Poker Tour and one tweet from yesterday shows exactly the sort of action that's been going on. He wrote: "Been gambling big in Macau. Won 2 million USD straight and was very thankful. Now lost 2 million straight. Thankful for other things :)."

The nosebleed specialist gave no indication who else was involved in the game, or the blinds, but given that four million dollars flowed through his hands in the course of eight to ten hours at the table, it must have been obscene. It's been hard to get details from Macau, but Sam Trickett, Tom Dwan, Peter 'Garfield25' Chan and Guy Laliberte are all said to be involved in the cash game action. After his bust out in the APPT event Phil Ivey looks likely to join them.
AsiaWhile we're in the hemisphere, let's check in with Dave Colclough, star of the UK's Late Night Poker and a man who once co-owned an online poker site and has been a sponsored pro. He's been quiet for the last few years and we were wondering where he'd been - turns out he's gone and gotten retired. He told Wales Online that he now lives "in Asia" and is living the easy life.
"I have semi-retired to Asia now," he told the website. "I came here in March… I still play poker but not for big money nowadays. Actually shall we say semi-retired … I actually won the biggest comp in The Philippines last weekend 450,000 peso and just completed a back to back this weekend winning the biggest comp of the weekend 184,000 peso…. they think I am still a bit of a poker god out here – lol."
Colclough won the European Player of the Year award in 2003 and 2005 and according to the online databases has over $2,600,000 in tournaments winnings.
